Overnight Oats
My kids love these overnight oats for breakfast. They're a nice make-ahead breakfast option for busy mornings.
Overnight Oats
1/2 cup rolled oats (see notes)
1 tsp. chia seeds
3/4 cup raw milk
1/4 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tsp. nut butter
1 Tbsp. pure maple syrup
Fresh fruit to top
Pint jar
1. Measure ingredients into individual jars.
2. Mix ingredients together in the jar.
3. Cover jar with a cap and store in the fridge for up to a week (see notes)
4. Top with fresh or frozen fruit and enjoy.
NOTES
Overnight oats can be stored safely in the fridge for up to a week; however, the oats will get increasingly soft the longer they are in the fridge. You'll need to determine how long they can be in fridge and still be a palatable texture for your taste.
For increased digestibility, use sprouted rolled oats. I purchase pre-sprouted rolled oats, but if you're up to the task, you can sprout your own oat groats, roll and dry your own.
